Privacy policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Les Chalets Bleus values the protection of your personal information. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit leschaletsbleus.com, book a stay, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. “We” means the business operating Les Chalets Bleus in Cap-Saint-Ignace.

1. Personal information collected

Newsletter

The form collects your email address and information needed to manage your subscription and document consent, including its date and source. Brevo administers the newsletter. Delivery, opening or click information may be processed when those features are enabled.

Reservations and stays

Depending on your booking and communications, information may include your name, contact details, address, travel dates, number of guests, special requests and billing information. Online bookings continue on Guesty. The platform and its payment providers process payment details; do not send your card number through our contact form.

Communications and browsing

We receive the contact details and content you send by form or email. Our host, Netlify, and the services you use may process technical information, such as your IP address, browser, date and requests, to deliver and secure the service.

2. Why we use this information

Information is used to answer questions, process bookings, prepare stays, provide customer support, send communications you have agreed to receive, prevent fraud and meet accounting and legal obligations. Collection is limited to information needed for these purposes.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The website remembers your travel dates and number of guests in your browser's session storage (sessionStorage) to preserve your search as you browse. These choices are sent to Guesty when you open booking results.

The website also uses local storage (localStorage) to remember when you close the newsletter invitation or your subscription is confirmed, so it does not repeatedly appear. These preferences remain in your browser and can be cleared in its settings.

The website currently uses no advertising trackers or audience measurement tools. When you open Guesty, the Brevo form or a social network, those services may use their own cookies; their policies govern their collection. If non-essential tracking features requiring consent are added, they will only be enabled after consent is given.

5. Service providers and other recipients

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Depending on the service requested, information may be shared with Netlify for hosting and forms, Guesty and payment providers for reservations, Brevo for newsletters, and our property management team, Prohost Québec, for guest support. Staff, providers and professional advisers who need information for their duties may access it within the limits of their mandate.

Disclosure may also be necessary to comply with the law or a valid order, or to protect our rights and people's safety.

6. Processing outside Quebec

Technology providers may process or store information outside Quebec or Canada. The laws of the processing location may then apply. Disclosure outside Quebec is subject to Quebec law, including the required privacy impact assessment and safeguards. You can ask us for details about the providers involved.

7. Retention and destruction

Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, follow up on a request and meet applicable legal obligations. The period depends on the type of record and accounting, tax or contractual requirements. After you unsubscribe, minimal information may be kept to honour your choice. Information no longer needed must be securely destroyed or anonymized when permitted by law.

8. Security measures

Protecting information requires reasonable measures suited to its sensitivity, including limiting access to people who need it. No internet transmission provides an absolute guarantee. If you suspect an incident involving your information, contact the person responsible below.

9. Your rights

Subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may request access to your information, corrections, details about its use or disclosure, withdrawal of consent and, where applicable, portability in a structured, commonly used technological format or cessation of its dissemination. We may need to verify your identity. Requests are handled within the deadlines provided by law.

10. Questions and complaints

Send your question or complaint to the person responsible below. Describe the situation and how we can reach you. You may also contact Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

11. Third-party links and services

Links to Guesty, Instagram, Facebook and partners lead to separate services. Review their privacy policies before sending them personal information.

12. Children's information

We do not seek to collect information directly from children without the required consent of a parent or person with parental authority. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.

13. Policy changes

The current version and its update date are published on this page. The policy may change as our services, practices and obligations evolve.

14. Person responsible for personal information protection

The management of Les Chalets Bleus is responsible for personal information protection.
